Post-Doctoral Vacancy at the Dynamics Lab!

The Dynamics Lab at University College Dublin seeks applications for a Post-doctoral position. The position will provide salary and benefits for 9 months, but potentially longer contingent upon performance and funding availability. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to work primarily on the project entitled Autonomic Home Area Network Infrastructure and Agent-Based Models. As part of the Dynamics Lab project, the post-doctoral researcher will be expected to use an Agent Based Modelling (ABM) approach to simulate and test various realistic alternatives for domestic energy user behaviour and outcomes within the Home Area Network Infrastructure. This research will provide insights into how individuals can be incentivised over time in order to adopt new and more efficient energy use behaviour in the home and how those behavioural decisions can be maintained over the medium term. This project is part of a major research programme which seeks to design and deliver a Home Area Network (HAN) infrastructure capable of supporting opportunistic decision making pertaining to effective energy management within the home.

Dynamics Lab Internship

Occasionally we have opportunities for Internships linked to ongoing research at the Dynamics Lab. These Internships are unpaid short research posts, based at the UCD Geary Institute and/or UCD CASL, and are ideal opportunities for post-graduate students at Masters and Doctoral level. The Intern joins a senior researcher at the Dynamics Lab to work on an ongoing research project.

Visiting Scholarships

We welcome Expressions of Interest for Visiting Scholarships at the Dynamics Lab. These Scholarships are intended for established researchers who are interested in the work of the Dynamics Lab and wish to spend a period of time based at the UCD Geary Institute or at the Complex and Adaptive Systems Laboratory (CASL)

PhD Opportunities

The Dynamics Lab provides a stimulating and supportive environment for PhD research work in the Computational Social Sciences. PhD Fellows at the Dynamics Lab have access to excellent PhD supervision and fully equipped workspace facilities at the Geary Institute and at the Complex and Adaptive Systems Laboratory (CASL)
