1. PROJECT TITLE

Modelling Dynamic Policy Networks for Managing Climate Change in Ireland

2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The dangers resulting from global climate change are well documented in the natural sciences while remaining understudied by sociologists. As a result, there remains many pressing sociological questions surrounding the issue of climate change worthy of investigation. The aim of my research is to explore and generate a substantial amount of high quality quantitative and qualitative sociological data describing Ireland’s national reaction to global climate change. It will involve an investigation of the conditions under which the near universal scientific consensus about the nature of the problem become accepted by the Irish population and it's political leaders so that measures to mitigate it's consequences become politically viable.
